After breakfast you will go for a game drive, during a game drive, you can see a rich variety of bird species, as well as large numbers of giraffes, buffalo, and elephants. After early breakfast you will start driving to Ruaha National park which is the 2nd largest park in Tanzania after Nyerere National Park, Ruaha is home to about one-tenth of the world’s endangered lions some grouped in pride of 30 or more. The park has plenty of plants and animals that will leave you satisfied. The Ruaha National Park is also well known for its large population of elephants. Over 500 species of birds have been recorded here and make it a paradise to bird watchers. Most of the birds are residents such as Kingfishers, Hornbills, and Sunbirds but some are migrants from other continents such as Asia, Europe, and within Africa to the region for instance the White Stork. As much as the birds can be spotted all year round, the best season for bird watching is on the wet season.
Other animals that can easily be spotted in the park include both Greater and Lesser Kudu, lions, cheetahs, leopards, giraffes, elands, zebras, impala, African wild dogs, Jackals, and bat-eared foxes.
