All about the 17 Days The Best of Southern Circuit (Nyerere, Mikumi, Ruaha, Udzungwa Mountains National Parks) and Zanzibar Vacation.

Southern Tanzania Safaris is vast and wild and has two large parks:  Nyerere National Park formerly known as  Selous the Selous Game Reserve and Ruaha National Park. There are two smaller parks  known as the Udzungwa Mountains and Mikumi National Parks, but all of these parks receive fraction of the visitors that their counterparts in the north do and offer untouched wilderness and an exciting safari experience. This 12 days Safari shall take you to these beautiful destination, you shall experience what real means to be in Africa Savanah woodland these parks are quite different from the northern parks , these parks are bushy and very adventurious.

  1. Day 1 Arrive in Dar Es Salaam and transfer to the hotel

    Pick up on arrival and transfer to hotel for Dinner and Overnight

  2. Day 2 Drive from Dar Es Salaam - Nyerere National Park (Selous Game Reserve)

    Pick up at 08:00 am at your hotel and drive to Nyerere National Park (4-5 hrs).
    You will take part in an afternoon boat safari along the mighty Rufiji River.
    Where you can see plenty of hippos, crocodiles, and birdlife.

  3. Day 3 Full day Nyerere National Park Game drive

    Earlier in the morning, you will go on a walking safari, Selous is also good for walking, the safari will give you an opportunity to make an adventure in the largest game reserve in Africa with our well-experienced bush guide. You will go back to the camp for breakfast and your guide will pick you up then go for a game drive for great animal sightings including all the great favorites’ lion, elephant, giraffe, buffalo, zebra and all the other major species like hunting dogs and birds in the afternoon take your lunch and take some few minutes for rest then proceed with the game drive during evening drive back to your Camp.

  4. Day 4 Full day Nyerere National Park Game drive

    You have another full day after breakfast set off by 4×4 on the game drive
    Across the Nyerere National Park with picnic lunch then Later drive back for dinner and overnight.

  5. Day 5 Drive from Selous Game Reserve - Mikumi National Park (5-6 hours)

    In the morning you will depart to Mikumi National Park while crossing through
    In the northern part of the Park, you will have an opportunity to see some more animals. Upon your arrival, you will take a rest.

  6. Day 6 Full day in Mikumi National Park

    Full day of game drives in Mikumi National Park ,Whilst on safari, you can see a rich variety of bird species, as well as large numbers of giraffe, buffalo and elephants, lions, leopards and African wild dogs and more others including zebras, hippos, hartebeest, wildebeest, impala, warthog, eland and antelope.

  7. Day 7 Drive to Ruaha National Park (5-6 hours)

    After early breakfast you will start driving to Ruaha National park which is the second largest park in Tanzania, Ruaha is home to about one-tenth of the world’s endangered lions some grouped in pride of 30 or more. The park has plenty of plants and animals that will leave you satisfied. The Ruaha National Park is also well known for its large population of elephants. Over 500 species of birds have been recorded here and make it a paradise to bird watchers. Most of the birds are residents such as Kingfishers, Hornbills, and Sunbirds but some are migrants from other continents such as Asia, Europe, and within Africa to the region for instance the White Stork. As much as the birds can be spotted all year round, the best season for bird watching is on the wet season.
    Other animals that can easily be spotted in the park include both Greater and Lesser Kudu, lions, cheetahs, leopards, giraffes, elands, zebras, impala, African wild dogs, Jackals, and bat-eared foxes. On the Miombo woodlands, you will easily spot the Sable and Roan antelopes. In arrival, you will start game drive later drive for dinner and overnight at,

  8. Day 8, 9 Ruaha National Park 2 full days of game driving at Ruaha National Park, with picnic lunches.

    Ruaha has an area of 10,300 sq km, is the second-largest park, and has
    Largest elephant sanctuary in Tanzania then followed by Tarangire National Park in the North. The great Ruaha River that flows along its entire eastern border creates spectacular gorges and scenery and features a large number of hippos and crocodiles. The wide variety of animals that inhabit the park includes both Greater and Lesser Kudu, roan, and sable antelope. Birdlife is also rich, with over 370 species recorded.

  9. Day 10 Drive to Udzungwa Mountains National Park (5-6 hours)

    After breakfast, you will drive to Uduzungwa Mountain National Park, lunch on the way (provided by the camp from Ruaha National Park). Afternoon walking tour around Mang’ula village and get a feeling of a typical Tanzanian day-to-day life. Back to the Lodge for dinner and overnight.

  10. Day 11 Hiking in Udzungwa - Sanje Waterfalls

    After breakfast, drive to the park gate and start hiking into the superb primary forest to the base and the top of the spectacular 180m Sanje Waterfall looking for primates on the way (Iringa Red Colobus and Sanje Mangabey). Swim in plunge pools, see endemic African Violets growing in the spray zones, and have lunch in the forest on the top of the falls. Descend after enjoying superb views.
    Drive back to the camp in the late evening for your hot dinner and spend the night at your fabulous Lodge.

  11. Day 12 Transfer to Dar Es Salaam for a Flight to Zanzibar.

    End of your southern circuit safari, departure to Dar Es Salaam by vehicle for
    Onward travel. Breakfast and lunch box provided. Upon your arrival, you will be transferred to the airport to connect you with your flight to Zanzibar.

  12. Day 13-16 Zanzibar

    From day 13 to 16 you will relax at the beach in Zanzibar and enjoy some of the beach activities.

  13. Day 17 Departure.

    Depending on your International Flight Schedule, transfer to Zanzibar Airport, to connect with your International flight back home
